Thanks to all the presenters at the AAPP conference. This was my first conference and I really enjoyed it.

My question is relating to directed lie questions. At the conference it was presented that the breathing is not scored on DLST. Would this also be true using directed lie questions on a single issue test? I would assume the two test types would be scored the same, but I learned long ago not to assume anything.

Technically, the Utah scoring rules apply to both PLCQTs and DLCQTs, so you score them the same in each. However, there is research to show that breathing reactions in a DLCQT are not only different, but the scoring criteria we use on PLCQTs isn't diagnostic. (Sometimes you can't tell the difference; others, the breathing tracings don't look "right" at all.) The conservative approach is not to score them at all. Some will only consider negative scores. Others will give positive scores if there is a "normal" reaction in the CQ and no reaction in the RQ. The number of issues doesn't matter.
